The New Racism: Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law Annual Symposium

Monday, March 28, 2011
9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
American University Washington College of Law, Room 603
4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

The program will focus on the shift of attitudes towards races and cultures in light of recent events (New York Muslim Cultural Center, Arizona Immigration Law, Presidential Election).  The Symposium hopes to address whether this New Racism is no longer a black and white issue,  and what civil rights/social movements, or lack thereof, have appeared. Additionally, the event may touch on protection of religion in the work place and the effect of “New Racism” on students and the DREAM Act.

Presented by the Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law
