Could federal agency intervention have prevented the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Toyota automobile defects, or the financial crisis. The Administrative Law Review Symposium will examine these questions. Thematic issues will include agency capture, industry influence on the regulatory process, lessons to be learned from prior regulatory shortfalls, and solutions to improve agency action in the future. Panels will cover challenges in environmental, transportation, and financial regulation.
