Navajo Nation Supreme Court Oral Arguments

April 5

9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Navajo Nation Supreme Court will hold oral arguments at WCL. The Supreme Court is the highest court of the Navajo Nation. The Navajo Nation is located in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah and is roughly the size of West Virginia. The Navajo judicial system is the most active tribal court system in the United States and opinions of the Navajo Supreme Court are regularly cited by other Indian nations and Indigenous groups worldwide. Given the size and importance of the Navajo Nation and the tribe's distinct system of tribal justice and unique common law, evidenced in part by the separate Navajo Bar exam, the Justices of the Navajo Supreme Court are leaders in the development of tribal law and tribal justice.
