Annual International Conference of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists *CLE*

March 22-25

9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Leading legal scholars, practitioners, and jurists will come together at the American University Washington College of Law to discuss legal topics that are the subject matter of a revolutionary era when terrorism clashes with democratic principles, and what this means for the State of Israel and the Jewish People. Unique legal questions born from the current situation in Israel and the Middle East will be explored, including a discussion on preserving valued civil liberties while implementing pervasive yet necessary security measures, and the importance of adhering to the laws of war in the face of uncontainable terrorism. This conference will include a discussion among the world's top constitutional minds about the current formulation of Israel's Constitution, and the relevance of a two-thousand year old Jewish legal system to today's contemporary legal thought and practice. Jewish lawyers will gather from around the world to celebrate those who have pursued justice, dedicated their lives to protecting human rights, and impacted international law
