The United Nations Committee Against Torture Project
12:00 pm - 1:15 pm
WCL's United Nations Committee against Torture (UN CAT) Project is a unique experiential learning opportunity for selected upper-level students to deepen their knowledge of international human rights law through participation in a specialized seminar on the prohibition of torture. The seminar includes a field component - attendance for one week of the official UN CAT meetings in Geneva during November, and preparing papers concerning countries and petitions being examined by the Committee. Dean Grossman, UN CAT Vice Chair, Jennifer de Laurentiis, project coordinator, and student participants will discuss their experiences.
