We are pleased to announce the first International Association of Law Schools Conference on Constitutional Law. It will take place on September 11 - 12, 2009 in Washington, D.C., USA.This program is generously supported and hosted by American University Washington College of Law and Georgetown University Law Center.The conference program will begin on Friday morning, September 11, 2009.The program is listed at the bottom of this message for your review.
The Planning Committee is chaired by Michel Rosenfeld, Yeshiva University Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, United States. He is joined by Henk Botha, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa; Marilisa D'Amico, University of Milano, Italy; Joaquim Falcao, FGV University, Brazil; Helen Irving, University of Sydney, Australia; Faridah Jalil, Universite Kebangsaan, Malaysia; and John McEldowney, University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
All delegates are required to write apaper on one of thefollowing conference topics and will be published on the IALS Conference website:

2.Religion, State and Constitution
3. Gender and Constitution
4. Constitutional Adjudication and Democracy
5. Distributive Justice
6. Contemporary Challenges to Executive Power
