Professor Matthew Pascocello 202-274-4092 **You must register for the fieldwork component as well (LAW-899). To do so, you must apply for your fieldwork credits through the externship office: https://www.wcl.american.edu/academics/experientialedu/externships/current-students/how-to-registar/

Description

The core focus of our time together will be on providing space to discuss professional and career-development related issues as they arise during the experiential part of your externship. The readings and practical exercises (including sit-downs with your supervisors to formulate goals at the beginning and mid-term; required networking meeting with a newly identified prospective mentor; and required 15-plus pages of substantive legal writing) are geared towards highlighting various experiences in the everyday practice of law and with the goal of creating a more thoughtful, entrepreneurial, and self-reliant approach towards your professional development.
