Description
This class explores the basic law surrounding the disposition of property at death. This course is designed to provide a broad general foundation, as well as to prepare students for further work in estate planning and will and trust drafting. By the end of the course, students should have a solid understanding of intestate and testate succession and of the law trusts and other probate-substitutes in estate planning, the rules regarding the establishment and administration of private and charitable trusts, and a basic familiarity with the probate process.
