NOTE: Students must attend the externship seminar in-person AT WCL on May 15th to May 17th, from 10:00 to 4pm. Students musts also attend the seminar on August 14th to August 16th, from 10:00 to 4pm. THIS SEMINAR IS MANDATORY This is a three-credit, graded seminar. It is taken in conjunction with a field placement outside of Washington DC in a non-profit, court, government organization, or a private law firm doing pro bono work.

Description

THIS COURSE MEETS ONLY ON May 15th to May 17th, from 10:00 to 4pm AND August 14th to August 16th, from 10:00 to 4pm. This seminar is ONLY for students who are externing in the United States but outside of the greater Washington, DC area. This is a three-credit class. IMPORTANT: This long distance seminar will meet at WCL for a three day intensive seminar for the week of May 15, and reconvene again at WCL for a three day intensive seminar during the week of August 14. Attendance is MANDATORY. REGISTRATION: There are two parts to registering for an externship: 1) Register on-line for the seminar as you would for any class. 2) Register for the field placement by going to the Externship Page www.wcl.american.edu/externship and submit a Request for Approval, which generates the necessary forms.
