Description

The course will focus on the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), which, with its broad scope and 171 Parties, is a singular achievement with the potential to enhance integrity and accountability and to reduce corruption on a global basis. The course will broaden awareness of the convention provisions, implementation measures and measures to remediate deficiencies. It will also address and enhance capacity of government officials, the private sector and non-governmental stakeholders to participate effectively in the UNCAC’s inter-governmental peer review process, which is critical to promoting implementation, and, thus, to achieving the convention’s potential. Knowledge gained on UNCAC peer review process will also enable course participants to understand and successfully cope with the peer review processes of other international anti-corruption instruments since they all share similar characteristics.
