Description

This 12-hours session (Friday, June 14, 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday, June 15, 9:00am to 2:00pm) is designed to provide advanced students and practitioners with essential skills to examine and cross-examine witnesses based on a mock arbitration case. Participants will improve their skills under the rigorous scrutiny of renowned arbitration practitioners. Members of the faculty will conduct training on examination skills with the help of audio-visual and video-tape equipment. These exercises will be carried out against the backdrop of the mock case. Each participant will take turns acting on behalf of the claimant, the respondent, and the witness. The panel members will analyze each performance and make suggestions for improvement at the end of the hearing. Prerequisites for WCL students: 1) Application of Intl Arbitration Fundamentals (LAW- 982-001) 2) Having taken or being enrolled in the course Practical Skills & Cross-Examination (LAW-795-019) General prerequisite: 1) Having taken or being enrolled in the course Practical Skills & Cross-Examination (LAW-795-019) EXAM: TBD
