Students will learn about the procurement laws, regulations and principles that govern the world of Federal government contracts. Students will learn about the legal rights of the parties (the government agency and the private contractor) arising from the time a contract is awarded until the work has been completed and accepted, payment is made, and disputes have been resolved. Course objectives include, among other things, providing students with a working knowledge of government contract law, including such areas as the authority of government contracting personnel, how to interpret government contracts, what to do if the contractor encounters a differing site condition, and learning about the forums for resolving government contract disputes. Formation of Government Contracts (LAW-654A) is NOT a prerequisite for this course.
