Description

This course will provide an overview of corporate compliance, governance, and ethics across industries. We will begin by discussing the importance of effective corporate compliance and identify the key individuals responsible for compliance within an organization. Next, we will examine internal enforcement as well as the critical role of regulators and prosecutors, and the civil and criminal liability that organizations can face when compliance programs fail or are not effectively implemented or administered. Students will also learn about risk management and some special compliance topics, such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Throughout the semester, we will also consider the profound impact Covid-19 has had on corporate compliance, governance, and ethics across industries.
