Description
This course provides a general overview of the legal and public policy issues in the domestic regulation of our dynamic communications and information industry. Communications and information technologies are defined by constant innovation. The laws and policy in this area, however, have been defined by lasting and recurring ideals and arguments. This course focuses on these foundational concepts. We will analyze how these notions have influenced attempts to lay the legal foundation for past and present disruptive technologies such as telephone, broadcasting, cable, wireless services and the Internet.
