Description
This class helps equip students with the practical skills to devise innovative legal solutions and implement community-driven legal projects. Students in this class will study existing tools of social change to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and limitations. Students will have an opportunity to evaluate and test the effectiveness of these tools by applying them to contemporaneous challenges. The course will introduce students to problem solving and analysis skills, risk management, stakeholder mapping, proposal writing, using social media and technology to advocate, and monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL). In the practical component of the course, students will work in groups to develop innovative legal solutions to advance human rights, access to justice, the rights of displaced persons, good governance, and the rule of law at international level. Students will run risk analyses, draft proposals, conduct MEAL, and promote sustainable solutions.
