Description
English for Lawyers is a content-based secondýlanguage learning course. The course promotesýadvanced language proficiency and productionýthrough legal content, developing work and studyýskills necessary for international lawyers.ýStudents will 1) develop the writing skillsýrequired in an American academic legal setting andý2) learn to communicate orally as a professional,ýusing clear English legal discourse. English forýLawyers supports and is taught in conjunction withýLegal Research and Writing. The courses share theýsame content base and writing assignments, but EFLýprovides additional opportunities for improvingýboth writing and speaking skills.
