Advanced Constitutional Law: Crises of the Republic (LAW-707-001)
Herman Schwartz
Notices
This country is currently going through some of the most serious constitutional crises of its existence. The "war on terror" and immigration have raised fundamental questions about the power of the presidency. Voter suppression and gerrymandering threaten democracy itself. The interplay of religion, free speech and health care, increased protections for LGBT individuals – all have raised equally basic questions. This class will explore these and other constitutional problems.
