Law and Accounting (LAW-672-001)
Class grade is based primarily on a final exam. For students who wish to complete the Upper Level Writing Requirement, permission may be given by the professor to submit a substantial research paper of 7,000 words in lieu of the final exam. Please consult the professor directly for additional information.
Basic accounting principles, role and responsibilities of the independent auditor, expectations of users of financial statements, recognition and realization, valuation, timing of costs, leases, delineation of creditors’ and stockholders’ rights, necessity for disclosures, concepts of materiality and role of the SEC in accounting law.
