Description
The course will address the fundamentals of licensing intellectual property assets in business transactions. Students will study approaches to managing licensing of trademarks, patents, trade secrets and copyrights through case study and drafting and negotiation sessions. By covering both legal case considerations and real world business dynamics, the course will provide students with insights into the role and responsibilities of in house lawyers and outside counsel in this process. Students will have the opportunity to participate in mock licensing negotiations, drafting a license agreement and preparing a client memorandum. **Please note that this course no longer focuses on technology transactions and a change to the course name is in process.**
