Notices

Welcome to 795DR-001 International Dispute Resolution Involving Sovereigns! For the first class, please do the reading listed for the first class that is available on My.WCL and that I have also attached to the back of the Syllabus below. To encourage participation in the first class, and to set the tone I like to have to begin the semester, I will provide pizza and beverages for the first class. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Description

This is a survey course on what can be done when there is a Sovereign or State-owned enterprise on one side of the "v." or the other -- or both. The course proceeds along two parallel tracks: (1) identifying each of the various fora where such a case may be brought and reading original materials from each forum and (2) learning all of the component parts of a major international case -- from obtaining jurisdiction to enforcement.
