Description

This course will cover the criminal process from “bail to jail,” with a focus on federal procedural practice. A student who successfully completes this course will be familiar with the statutory, constitutional, and common law doctrines and policy issues implicated by criminal cases once adversarial proceedings begin. The readings and class discussions will examine a number of topics related to the initiation of criminal proceedings, pre-trial practice, trial, judgment, sentencing, and appeal
