Description

An overview of the definitions of family, marriage, and divorce; the economic consequences of divorce; child placement; constitutional doctrine affecting the family; state intervention in the family; and the impact of gender on family law.

The casebook for this course is Modern Family Law: Cases and Materials -- FIFTH EDITION, by D. Kelly Weisberg and Susan Frelich Appleton. You will need to purchase (new or used) this edition, as I will assign reading by page number.
