Description

This is a graded three credit course that is taken concurrent with a field placement. In this seminar we will explore and reflect on the meaning of being a lawyer and a member of the legal profession at large. The goal of this course is to think critically of what it means to be a lawyer, definitions of success in the workplace, and to evaluate career goals and values. During the course of the semester we will think analytically about different areas of the law, including the government, public interest, and private practice; we will dissect what it means to be a lawyer in various contexts; we will examine a range of ethical challenges encountered during the practice of law; and consider the quest for happiness and meaning within the legal profession.
