Textbooks and Other Materials

The textbook information on this page was provided by the instructor. Students should use this information when considering purchases from the AU Campus Store or other vendors. Students may check to determine if books are currently available for purchase online.

There is no required text book for this class as I do not want students to incur that cost when I can provide all necessary materials in class. Much of the written information will be from PowerPoint slides. If students are interested in a text, I recommend: (i) The Music Copyright Manual, The Definitive Guide to Music Copyright Law in the Digital Age, by Jim Jesse, Rock & Roll Law, Copyright 2016. (ii) All You Need To Know About The Music Business, by Donald S. Passman, (iii) Celebrity Rights: Rights of Publicity and Related Rights in the United States and Abroad, By Welkowitz & Ochua, Carolina Academic Press, Copyright 2019. There will be selected readings handed out in class and via the web portal, (iii) Entertainment Law Fundamentals & Practice by Corey Field.
