Description
Explores the ways in which the legal system deals (and has dealt) with people with disabilities in such areas as employment, public accommodations, education, institutionalization, transportation, health, and other areas. Students look at historical and contemporary depictions of people with disabilities, case law, and statutes, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
