Description

Privacy and security law is one of the newest and hottest fields in law, across the United States and around the world. Privacy issues also are in the news almost every day. Privacy and security law now impacts virtually every company in every industry, large and small, across the globe. This course will provide a broad survey of the primary privacy and security laws and principles that exist in the United States and in key parts of the world. We will focus on laws that address specific industries and particular practices, as well as the broad principles that help define the policy of privacy law. We also will look at key topics impacting the law of privacy and security, including litigation, enforcement, data analytics, vendor management and a host of other hot topics. In addition, we will conduct specific exercises designed to demonstrate and teach what it is like to be a privacy and security lawyer for a company, law firm, government entity or otherwise.
