Description

In this course, we will explore the basic principles of the law of evidence with particular attention to the Federal Rules of Evidence. Course policies regarding attendance and other issues will be discussed at the first class session. In two sessions, we will divide the class into teams and practice questioning witnesses, making objections and arguing for rulings on points of evidence. As a casebook, we will use Broun, Mosteller, and Gianelli, Evidence: Cases and Materials (8th Edition, American Casebook Series). Students should also obtain a copy of the Federal Rules of Evidence, including Notes of the Advisory Committee.
