Description

Analyzes practice and legal requirements for environmental impact assessments in a variety of legal contexts, including different U.S. counties and states and international organizations such as the UN, World Bank, and IMF. The focus is on U.S. federal law (NEPA), which requires the preparation of an environmental impact statement on proposals for federal action likely to have a significant effect on the human environment. Also included are ecosystem analysis, environmental justice, biodiversity, cumulative impacts, public and secret information, socioeconomic issues, terrorism, and public involvement.
