First Class Readings

Professor Raskin’s Constitutional Law students: For the first class, please read the Assignment for Class 1 from the syllabus, which consists of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Gettysburg Address. You have three specific assignments: (1) Memorize and be prepared to recite the Gettysburg Address and/or identify and be prepared to discuss what you think is the relationship between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution; (2) Be prepared to discuss what should be the “Constitution” for class discussion and participation; and (3) Pick out what you find to be the most surprising provision in the Constitution or passage in the Declaration. I look forward to meeting you.
