Description

This course covers the many facets of international commercial sales of goods. The focus of the course is the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna 1980), generally known as the CISG, with comparisons to domestic systems in both the common law (especially Uniform Commercial Code Article 2) and the civil law. The class also covers the payment and credit terms typical in such sales, with particular attention to the laws and practices relating to letters of credit. In addition, the course addresses carriage of the goods and the risk of loss to them
