Description

This three-credit online course covers the skills needed to handle investment arbitration cases as counsel or arbitrator. The course explores the jurisdictional, procedural, and substantive aspects that arise in investment treaty arbitrations. Through hands-on exercises taken from real cases, students become familiar with bilateral and multilateral investment treaties; the structure, functions and procedure of ICSID; investment arbitration procedural decisions and awards; and the interaction between national courts and international arbitral tribunals.
