Description

The goal of this course is to promote the production of a writing sample of publishable quality that demonstrates your writing skills and highlights your interest in intellectual property or technology law. The course will focus on the craft of academic legal writing. The course will teach, practice and evaluate a student’s ability to Find a factual “hook” that situates the paper within a timely current issue of import; Define a problem that needs to be addressed; Identify gaps in the current literature that need to be filled by the author’s research to contribute to solving the problem; Design and implement a research methodology to fill the gap; Use the results of the research methodology to contribute insights useful to solving the problem; Conclude with reflections on implications of the paper for the future of research or policymaking in the field.
