Description

Course Overview: Through reading assignments, class discussion, and oral argument sessions, this course will provide students with a greater understanding of key aspects of appellate advocacy. We will focus on the issues facing practitioners—particularly the importance of, and challenges associated with, brief-writing and oral advocacy—but will also address the other players in the appellate court context, such as judges and law clerks. Students are invited and encouraged to attend a DC Circuit sitting to enhance their experience. Details on the Circuit sittings to follow.
