Description

Uses fiction and film as well as traditional legal materials to examine women's experience in the legal profession and in law school. Students will consider gender pressures on men to be successful and strong and how the experiences of manhood and womanhood are affected by class, race, and culture. Specific topics include basic feminist theory, workfamily conflict, international feminism, divorce, abortion, pornography, sexy dressing and gender performance, black feminism, Latinas, and gender pressures on working-class women.
