This course will meet in-person for three classes and the remaining six will be conducted live online.

Attendance for the first class is MANDATORY as we will review the online platform. All students must have a laptop with a working camera and microphone.

Description

The rise in use of social media and its respective technology has impacted the law in several areas. This course will teach students how the technology works and more importantly, how social media affects the law and legal profession. Students will gain an understanding of how to apply legal theories to social media and how best to use social media in their professional practice.

No text is required. The readings will consist of cases, law review articles, and other publications that are available online or through the course site.

First Class Readings

We will meet at WCL to review the online system and then have a general discussion about the course requirements, subject matter, and short reading assignments.
