Advocacy-Intl Arbitration (LAW-795FF-001)
Wednesday, June 11 (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM); Thursday, June 12 (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM); and Friday, June 13, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
This workshop is designed to provide advanced students and practitioners with essential skills to cross-examine witnesses. Participants will improve their skills under the rigorous scrutiny of arbitration practitioners. Members of the faculty will conduct training on cross-examination skills with the help of audio-visual and video-tape equipment. Each participant will take turns acting on behalf of the claimant and the respondent. The panel members will analyze each performance and make suggestions for improvement at the end of the hearing.

This course is part of the International Arbitration Summer Program and a certificate of attendace will be provided. Luncheons and networking activities provide participants with the opportunity to exchange information and interact with their peers and expert instructors.

Prerequisites for WCL students: 1) Application of Intl Arbitration Fundamentals (LAW- 982-001) 2) Having taken or being enrolled in the following courses: International Commercial Arbitration (Grigera Naón & Frutos Peterson) Application of Intl Arbitration Fundamentals (Jaffe & McKay) Introduction to the Practice of International Commercial Arbitration (Sasson & Shore) Academic Credit: In order to receive academic credit, students must receive a passing grade for this course. Students will be graded on their participation and in-class presentations that are part of the workshop.
