Description

The course will explore the contemporary developments regarding international tribunals and their impact and relevance for the protection and promotion of human rights. It will study the role of individuals in international courts, both as beneficiaries of rights and as actors before international proceedings. The course will also review the interaction among human rights tribunals with other international tribunals, and will explore specific problematic areas resulting from such interaction. In this framework, it will study issues related to access to justice, due process of law, evidentiary matters and reparations, among others.
