To combat zoom fatigue, this online two-credit course has a balanced amount of asynchronous lectures, readings, and hands-on activities, combined with live virtual classes by renowned experts and practitioners in arbitration. It includes 16 hours of asynchronous recorded lectures as well as special conferences, asynchronous discussion forums, automatic quiz feedback. It also includes 8 hours of synchronous (real-time) session with the professor: Classes meets Tuesday 9:00 AM to 10 PM. EST. Participants must be self-motivated and able to dedicate approximately 6 hours a week to watch video-lectures and work on quizzes, problems, and readings. Students may access the lectures according to their schedule and will meet with the professor once a week for a one-hour live virtual lecture. In addition, we will have invited guest speakers in live or pre-recorded sessions. These guest speakers will cover specific topics of international arbitration that will further contextualize the general topics covered in the course. There will also take place activities to allow socializing and networking through virtual means. This course is a condensed version of our online certificate programs son includes materials generally not available to students. A certificate of attendance will be issued to students upon request. Description

This two-credit course/program explores different issues arising in the conduct of international arbitrations and the making and enforcement of arbitral awards by focusing on arbitration awards, court decisions in the area of arbitration, the interaction between national courts and international arbitral tribunals, national arbitration statutes, international arbitration treaties and the arbitral rules of leading international arbitration institutions. EXAM: 24-hour take-home exam.
