Description

Provides a general overview of international commercial arbitration focusing on the following key issues: general explanation of the different institutions and rules of arbitration, institutional and ad-hoc arbitration, when to arbitrate and when to litigate, how to draft an arbitration clause. Exams: The exam is a 24-hour take-home test. Students may download the take-home exams from the day after the last class of the course has taken place. The exams will be available online until Wednesday, July 1, 2015 (5:00pm DC Time) at MyWCL. Therefore, participants are not required to stay in DC after June 11. For the Workshop: Advocacy in International Arbitration (final grade based on class performance). For Academic Credit: Students must take a final take home exam, available the day after the last class of the course has taken place. The exam will be available online until Tuesday, July 1, 2014 (5:00pm DC Time) at MyWCL.
