Description

You will participate in a three-credit interactive seminar while working in an externship field placement. In this seminar, you will explore various roles and positions lawyers serve in and out of the legal profession. You will also explore different topics such as ethical issues in the workplace, skill development, work/life balance, mentorship, and career development. The format of the seminar will be discussion-based and include role-play, guest speakers and a field trip (if possible).

Grades will be based on attendance, class participation, journal entries and writing assignments, class presentation and final paper.

Textbooks and Other Materials

The textbook information on this page was provided by the instructor. Students should use this information when considering purchases from the AU Campus Store or other vendors. Students may check to determine if books are currently available for purchase online.

Our class readings are based around the latest edition of an excellent textbook, law review, journal articles, ethic rules and case law. Our readings will be supplemental by lively discussions and shared experiences of guest speakers. Remember, this is a seminar and not a lecture. This means, your participation will add value and determine the success of this seminar.
