Description

The externship seminar offers you the opportunity to reflect on your externship experience and be introduced to a number of public interest/civil rights and government lawyering issues. Your experience at your externship placements --- and your reflections on it --- are central in this course. We will use this course to explore the meaning of being a lawyer and a member of the legal profession. As you review the syllabus, you will notice that each class reflects a theme. This seminar is designed to appeal to students with a broad range of interests and professions; our goal is use the theme of each class to appeal to every student’s interest and encourage discussion. In addition, I hope to have practicing lawyers join us to describe their work and the day-to-day life of a public interest/government lawyer.
