Description

This two credit course will introduce students to the theory and practice of special education law. Students will study the statutory, regulatory and case law materials on special education law with emphasis on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act. Students will also have an opportunity to observe special education programs and discuss with special education experts the practical application of special education law. The course will also teach mediation and advocacy skills through role plays and presentations.
