Description

Is the Constitution at risk today? This is a question on many people's minds--not just in America, but across the globe. This course will discuss selected problems in constitutional law with the goal of empowering students to engage in current constitutional debates with depth and accuracy. Includes consideration of major recent Supreme Court decisions as well as competing approaches to modern constitutional theory. Particular focus will be placed on issues of executive power, congressional prerogative, and judicial intervention under the Constitution. Depending on enrollment, the course will include a field trip to the U.S. Supreme Court to hear oral argument, and related skills-based course work.
