Description

Charlottesville, controversial campus speakers and the new social media have challenged fundamental free-speech and association principles. At the same time, the interplay of religion and health care, increased protections for LGBT individuals and the rise of the Religious Right have done the same with respect to the Religion Clauses of the Amendment. This class will explore these and other First Amendment problems, including the role of the First Amendment in voting. Enrollment is limited to 15 students.
