Description

Higher education law is a fast growing and dynamic field of law in a global industry with over 3000 attorneys representing public and private schools in the U.S. The U.S. is the leading exporter of education services in the world and demand for these services in the international market is expected to grow. The U.S. higher education system features highly developed public and private university systems. This course reviews laws, regulations, and judicial opinions affecting higher education in the U.S. Topics of discussion include: faculty rights, student rights, federal regulation of higher education, nondiscrimination and affirmative action in admission, intellectual property and scientific research.
