Description

Reviews the major principles of international law for the conservation of biological diversity and wildlife. We will discuss international agreements on subjects such as biological diversity, ocean fisheries, migratory species and wildlife trade, as well as emerging conservation issues relating to climate change. The course takes a problem-solving perspective based on an understanding of the values of biodiversity, the threats to it, and the available tools that can promote conservation. Meets 6/07-6/11.
