Description
Anti-discrimination law is an important regulator of employer-employee relationships in the United States. Law students interested in many areas of U.S. employment, business, labor, and/or civil rights law should therefore acquire a strong grounding in the analytics of U.S. workplace anti-discrimination laws. This course is a survey of the major federal statutes prohibiting discrimination in the workplace, with a focus on practical problems encountered in litigation. Topics include statutory scope and coverage, establishing liability, defenses, remedies, and administrative and civil procedure, including the increasing use of alternative dispute resolution.
