Description
This is a foundational course which provides students with an overview of the sources of International Law and the dynamic process by which States and other relevant actors make and apply that law. It examines the relevance, effectiveness and function of International Law both at the international and domestic levels. It also focuses on how the US and its legal system give or deny legal effect to rules of International Law and the consequences of those decisions. A student’s final grade in the course will be based on her/his performance on a 24 hour, open book, take home exam.
