Prerequisite: Trademark Law or Intellectual Property Law
Description
This course concerns the international system regulating the protection of trademark rights. It focuses on the principal international conventions in the field of trademarks, but we will also look at select regional and bilateral agreements. The course considers jurisdictional issues, anti-dilution, geographical indication protection, domain names and the protection of famous marks. We will also consider comparative trademark law for particular issues such as industrial design, publicity rights, and traditional cultural expression.
