Description

This survey course in Family Law introduces students to legal issues arising in the formation, conduct, and dissolution of relationships and families, with a particular focus on marriage, the financial consequences of divorce, parentage and custody, and child support. The professor will teach the course from the perspective of a practicing attorney and litigator, integrating substantive issues in family law, issues in related areas such as tax and bankruptcy, procedural issues including jurisdiction, and issues arising in the context of negotiation and settlement.
